PlayVizee is operated by SmarkLabs (“SmarkLabs”, “we”, “us”) in Illinois, USA. This policy explains what we collect when you use the PlayVizee website (playvizee.com) and the PlayVizee app (app.playvizee.com), why we collect it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed. If anything is unclear, email us at support@playvizee.com.
Who uses PlayVizee
PlayVizee accounts are for coaches and, in the future, clubs and organizations. A coach can invite parents or guardians by email to view their team’s content. There are no player accounts. We do not offer accounts to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time link and to send you service messages. We do not store passwords.
Content you create. Drills, plays, systems, practice plans, game plans, notes, tags, and any images you upload to turn into drills. This content belongs to you.
Roster information entered by coaches. When a coach builds a team roster, it may include a player’s name, jersey number, and position. This is entered by the coach on behalf of their team, not collected from the player. We ask coaches to keep rosters to those fields and not to enter birthdates, photos, medical notes, or contact details for players.
Parent and guardian invites. When a coach invites a parent, we store that parent’s email address so we can send the invite and give them access to the team. We use it only for that purpose unless the parent separately opts in to updates from us.
Early-access and contact requests. If you submit your email on our website, we store it to respond and, with your consent, to send you updates about PlayVizee. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Technical information. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) and a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
How we use it
- To provide the service: sign you in, store your content, render your drills, and share what you choose to share.
- To communicate with you about your account, invites, and changes to the service.
- To improve PlayVizee, using aggregated usage that does not identify you.
- To keep the service secure and to meet our legal obligations.
Sharing and public links
When you create a share link for a drill, plan, or game plan, anyone with that link can view it without signing in. Do not include information in shared content that you would not want a stranger to see. You can stop sharing at any time from the app, which disables the link.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run PlayVizee. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
- Supabase hosts our database and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the app.
- WP Engine hosts this website.
- Mailgun delivers our email.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on this website, which means your browser requests them from Google.
- Anthropic processes images you upload with the “import from a photo” feature so they can be turned into editable drills. Images are sent for that purpose only. Do not upload photos that contain people’s faces or personal information.
These providers may store data in the United States. If you are in Canada, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where it is subject to US law.
Children’s privacy
PlayVizee does not offer accounts to children and does not collect personal information from them. Player details that appear in PlayVizee are entered by coaches for their team rosters. If you are a parent or guardian and want to see, correct, or delete information about your child, contact the coach who manages the team or email us and we will help.
Your choices and rights
- Access and export. You can view and export your content from the app. Email us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction and deletion. You can edit or delete your content at any time. To delete your account and everything in it, email us. We remove it within 30 days, except for what we must keep for legal or security reasons.
- Marketing email. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Service emails about your account cannot be turned off while you have an account.
- Cookies. The only cookie we set is the one that keeps you signed in. Clearing it signs you out.
US state residents. Depending on your state you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted or corrected, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising. To exercise a right, email us; we will verify your request through the email address on your account.
Canadian residents. We handle personal information in line with PIPEDA and provincial privacy laws. You may request access to or correction of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Questions about our privacy practices can be sent to the contact below; you also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. Early-access and contact submissions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and are then deleted.
Security
We use encryption in transit, restricted access to production data, and reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique email account and sign out on shared devices. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and, for account holders, email you before the change takes effect.
